A 30–year veteran in the professional intelligence field, Kinsinger teaches a class on business intelligence at Thunderbird in which companies engage student teams in real–world competitor analysis consulting. He has also helped companies monitor and assess competitive activities, develop strategies for new business development, and assess market trends in industries as varied as healthcare, manufacturing, consumer products, computers and software, telecommunications, and entertainment. In addition, he has provided workshops and seminars on intelligence tools such as intelligence collection, competitive analysis, and decision support project management. Paul holds a B.A. in Political Science from UC Berkeley and a Masters from the Johns Hopkins University School of Advanced International Studies.
Karen S. Walch, Ph.D., associate professor and consultant at Thunderbird School of Global Management, considers herself someone who has lived "many lifetimes." She has 15 years of experience in international negotiation, cultural competencies and global mindset. Karen has refined her expertise in global negotiations and cross–cultural communication by playing various roles in the legal, insurance, tourism and aquaculture sectors of business nationally and abroad. Karen brings real–life experience to global challenges. She has assisted companies all over the world to negotiate and communicate across cultures, gender barriers and within diverse verticals. Karen has led executive groups worldwide who are challenged with commercial, political and interpersonal conflicts. Her approach to negotiation development and strategic planning is the result of theoretical research, practice and educational experiences in a multicultural context. She has worked with such companies as Exxon Mobil, Delta Airlines, SK Korea, Honeywell, Kellogg and Acer Taiwan. Karen has taught in Mexico, Japan, Cuba, Taiwan, Poland, South Korea and Germany coaching students and executives. Karen earned a Ph.D. in International Political Economy and Negotiation at the University of Wisconsin while working in an industry setting.
Joe has more than 8 years experience of advising global corporations on market entry and business development strategies. He has extensive knowledge of the Telecoms, IT Services and Transportation industries having worked at British Telecommunications, Ernst & Young and the London 2012 Olympics Transportation Program. Whilst in the United Kingdom, Joe has been keynote speaker on the state of the industry at the annual congress of the FITCE – the Forum of European ICT Professionals. Joe is fluent in Spanish and Italian and holds an MA in International Business Studies from Warwick University and an MBA in Global Management from Thunderbird School of Global Management.
Julia brings experience in market and competitive intelligence research and analysis. She has led and executed multiple market and competitive intelligence engagements in North America, Latin America, Europe and Asia for clients such as ING, Intel, Bayer, and Mayo Clinic. Julia has facilitated CI workshops for Time Warner and Intel throughout Europe and North America. She has previously worked in the airline industry in Europe, and in business development and account management for the non–profit sector. Fluent in German, Julia holds a Bachelor of Interdisciplinary Studies degree from Arizona State University, a Certificate of International Business Studies from Arizona State University's W.P. Carey School of Business, and an MBA in Global Management from Thunderbird School of Global Management, with a focus in business and competitive intelligence.
