When Emanuel Lima Abud '10 arrived at the spring 2010 Global MBA for Latin American Managers graduation ceremony, he had heard a rumor that the school would reach an historic milestone during the event: graduating its 40,000th alumnus. Little did he know, that 40,000th T-bird would be him. But that's not Lima's only Thunderbird achievement. Hanna Brenalt’s fascination with the global world began at a young age. “A great deal of this curiosity was sparked and supported by my father, a cartographer, airline pilot, and seasoned world traveler,” he explains. “He would not only bring home books and stories from around the world but also would give us the opportunity to travel and see the world with him.”

Participation in the Model United Nations during high school left a lasting impression on Fernanda Meza ’09. Since then, she has taken advantage of that global interest, becoming proficient in French, and traveling to destinations including the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Japan and Costa Rica.
