1. Application form
Complete the application form online. Include all personal and demographic information requested. Providing a permanent email address is critical for future communication.
2. Application Fee
When you submit your application, include the U.S. $125 application fee. This fee is non-waivable, non-refundable.
3. GMAT or GRE Test Score*
You are required to submit a GMAT score (valid within 5 years of entry) or GRE Revised Test score (taken after August 1, 2011) as part of your application.
An official GMAT test score must be sent directly from Pearson Vue. The Pearson Vue code for Thunderbird is P5K-H3-21.
An official GRE Revised Test score must be sent directly from ETS. The ETS code for Thunderbird is 4003.
*Highly experienced candidates may also apply for a GMAT/GRE waiver. Please speak with your Thunderbird representative for more information.
4. Transcripts
Official transcripts from all undergraduate and graduate schools of attendance, including an official validation of your qualifying degree is required. Foreign education credentials must be accompanied by a complete English translation provided by a known translation service. Degrees earned in less than four years of university study may not be considered valid for admission.
5. Two letters of recommendation
Individuals who recommend you should be those who have interacted with you professionally and who can credibly comment on your management potential and/or academic performance. One recommendation should be from your current or previous supervisor. If this is not possible, please provide an explanation. Letters more than six months old are not acceptable; letters from people who relate only on a personal level are not acceptable. Letters of recommendation are not considered part of a matriculated student's permanent record and are not accessible or subject to the Family Education Rights and Privacy Act of 1974 (FERPA).
6. Two original personal essays
Two original personal essays that describe international motivation and career goals. Your essays should provide concise and specific insights into your decision to apply to Thunderbird. Please limit your essays to 1,500 words each. Topics are located on the application form and the application checklist.
7. Current resume
Current resume summarizes all activities since completion of the qualifying degree. Include titles of positions held, brief descriptions of responsibilities, employer names, dates of employment and reason for leaving. Please include additional academic, professional and community accomplishments.
8. Non-U.S. Citizens — Additional Information
An official TOEFL score report, sent directly from ETS. This test is required of all applicants whose native language is not English and who did not receive their qualifying degree in a country where English is the primary or native language. The test must be current within 2 years of your desired entry date. Applicants must receive a minimum of a 600 on the paper-based test, 250 on the computer-based test, or 100 on the internet-based test in order to be admitted into the Global MBA On-Demand program. The ETS code for Thunderbird is 4003. The IELTS exam may be substituted for the TOEFL exam. Applicants must receive a minimum overal score of 7.0 on the IELTS in order to be admitted.
