Eric Henderson '97, United States

Many experiences have shaped the life of Eric Henderson ’97, but none quite so much as Thunderbird and a 1950's camera. A Texan turned New Yorker, Henderson is grabbing international attention for his fine art photography. While some may not understand how a successful businessman and T-bird shifts gears to art, he says it’s easy to explain. “[The typical T-bird is very] open to discovery, whether business or art…T-bird has always taken a more expansive view.”

Sharon Jayakumar '04, India

While attending Thunderbird, Sharon Jayakumar ’04 was active in just about every on-campus community available - building her cross-cultural skills, her network and her confidence. Diego Veitia '66, Cuba

Nobody had a job for Diego Veitia ’66 when he finished his bachelor’s degree in the 1960s - a dilemma that brought the Cuban entrepreneur to Thunderbird to bolster his marketability. Now the chairman of a Fortune 50 company, Veitia says after earning his Thunderbird degree, “I sent out the same resumes as I did before, only now with Thunderbird on it. This time I was too busy to handle all the inquiries from companies looking for someone like me.”

Ramiro Castro '07, Argentina/Italy

Ramiro Castro, born in Argentina and of Italian descent, says a natural global instinct is irreversible after studying at Thunderbird. It’s a tool that, today, is helping him gain business in Asia and Europe as a manager with Lloyd’s Register UK. “You will develop global awareness at Thunderbird,” he says, while learning international business methodologies that are real, practical and immediately applicable.

Laura Libman '05

With her brains and education, Laura Libman ’05 could easily be the CEO of a major corporation, ensconced in a plush, high-rise office, wearing heels and an Armani suit. Instead, the 2005 Thunderbird graduate puts her passion and professional skills to work through the Tia Foundation, the Arizona-based nonprofit organization she founded to bring health care training to rural Mexico.

Young entrepreneur Andrew Wulf '08 helps build prosperity in Panama's rainforest. The rainforest project is a part-time endeavor for Wulf, who represents the family-owned Driscoll Strawberry Associates in Chile, moving back and forth between South America and the company's corporate headquarters in Watsonville, Calif.
